Franklin Park Speed Skating Club was established over 25 years ago, skating out of the Franklin Park Ice Rink.
The club focuses on developing skaters at any age to reach their fullest potential in short track speedskating. Our highly-trained, Level 2 and Level 3 certified coaches attend every practice to work with and train the skaters.
What makes us different from other clubs is that we keep our coach-to-skater ratio low, in order to ensure that all skaters receive the attention they need to develop their natural talents and continuously improve their speedskating skills. Our coaches attend each speedskating meet, both at the local and national level, in order to provide the one-to-one coaching that makes maximum use of every competitive race situation.
Several of our skaters have reached the elite level of the sport, including National Champions and Olympians.
If you would like to give speed skating a try, please come out for a trial session.
Just bring:
1. Skates (hockey or figure skates are just fine)
2. Helmet (bicycle helmet is just fine)
3. Gloves and Knee Pads
